Anglesey medic awarded VC

Captain John Fox Russell of the Royal Army Medical Corp was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions at Tel-el-Khuwwilfeh in Palestine. It is reported that Capt. Russell went out time and again to tend to the wounded, even though he was continuously shot at by enemy snipers and machine guns. He carried many men to safety. He was killed in action on this day, aged 24 years.
