Battle of the Falklands

Britain sent many ships to the South Atlantic to attack the German squadron after the defeat at Coronel. When the German ships attempted to raid the British base at Stanley in the Falkland Islands Britain was far more prepared to attack. Reinforcements had arrived, including HMS Caernarvon, named after the Welsh town, and HMS Cornwall, which was built in Pembroke Dock. The British ships successfully destroyed the majority of the German ships.
