Kinmel Park Riots

no date

Five men were killed and 23 were wounded during a riot at Kinmel Park, an army camp near Abergele, Denbighshire. The riots started in the Canadian section of the camp because of delays in sending them home. Around 15,000 Canadian troops were stationed at the camp after the war. Living conditions were not favourable; men had to sleep in cramped rooms and food was in short supply.
